Telco Systems selected to be one of Broadband Communities' Top 100

Prestigious recognition for "advancing fiber based broadband solutions"

MANSFIELD, MA – July 23, 2012 - Telco Systems, a BATM company (LSE: BVC) - has joined the ranks of the Broadband Communities (BBC) Magazine “Top 100” 2012 – a select list that celebrates companies making the most significant contributions towards building a fiber-connected world. Telco Systems, developer of Carrier Ethernet 2.0 compliant and MPLS multi-service solutions, was singled out for this prestigious award on the strength of its end-to-end Ethernet and MPLS based fiber solution.

“Building a fiber-connected community requires vision and expertise,” explains Masha Zager, editor of Broadband Communities magazine. “In selecting our Top 100 list, the editors looked for organizations that advance the cause of fiber-based broadband in one of several ways. Among them, we looked for innovative technologies that change the rules, and our key tiebreaker question is: Will this company make a difference in the fiber broadband industry that can help communities transform their local economies or improve their quality of life? Telco Systems has certainly done that this year.”

Telco Systems offers Carrier Ethernet and MPLS-based demarcation and aggregation solutions designed to create end-to-end Ethernet/MPLS networks that are more intelligent and robust. By helping carriers differentiate their services through flexible bandwidth management and service assurance via robust integrated OAM tools, the company’s solutions enable operators to address exciting new business opportunities and offer a superior user experience while lowering CAPEX. The end-to-end solution combined with the company’s powerful service management system, EdgeGenie, Telco Systems’ T-Marc and T-Metro fiber product lines to lower the overall total cost of ownership by accelerating network planning, deployment, and management of new services.

This year’s selection spanned industry pioneers and recent newcomers, with a strong focus on fiber-based broadband technologies and solutions. Proposal and evaluation of candidates for the top 100 are made by industry experts and organizations, including broadband based communities, analysts, journalists, academics and industry leaders.

"We are honored to be recognized by BBC Magazine," commented Greg Gum, SVP & Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer at Telco Systems. "But more importantly the judges commended Telco Systems’ recent deployment with NebraskaLink, which uses our solutions to help build a new, state-of-the-art, $16.5M fiber based Ethernet network to bring broadband across the entire state of Nebraska. This is a wonderful example of how intelligent fiber based networks can rapidly bring advanced broadband services to enrich community’s overall economy and quality of life".
