Cloud services are changing the way we live and work. The wide-ranging promise of the Cloud includes lower capital and operating costs for enterprises, simple global access to information for mobile employees, efficient delivery of streaming video, online retail services and social networking for personal users, secure financial transactions for the investment community, and a game-changing model for businesses to respond quickly and cost-effectively to changes. Cloud services can range from data centers and storage services to access to computing resources and applications. These services are generally identified as IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and SaaS (Software as a Service).
The delivery of these services, however, requires an infrastructure that can support the most stringent SLAs to the cloud and between clouds. Service providers who already own a robust public communications network are in a perfect position to leverage their infrastructure support the stringent requirements of the public Cloud, and offer quality of experience that can be guaranteed as oppose to cloud providers who don’t own the access inftastructre.

In order to deliver on the promise, however, the Cloud network needs to be reliable, secure, resilient, and ensure a high quality of experience for the user.
